Christian ZimmerThe genitive marker -s of strong masculine and neuter nouns is sometimes omitted in German (e.g. des Tsunami/Tsunamis). Based on comprehensive corpus studies, this book describes and explains this variability, comparing it to related phenomena (such as the plurals of loan words). Building on these findings, it examines the theoretical implications of these phenomena – for example, in connection with the system of German declension classes.
